(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Batesville, Arkansas Hall of Famer Billy Moyer wrapped up a Lucas Oil MLRA Series tripleheader in the Hawkeye State in victory lane, as he notched career win #818 on Saturday evening, May 6 at Independence Motor Speedway in Independence, Iowa! Billy won his heat race in preliminary action and later started the 40-lap headliner from the pole position. He then dominated the caution-free feature to lead wire-to-wire to claim the $3,000 winner’s check over Rodney Sanders, Chris Simpson, Brent Larson, and Jimmy Mars!

Earlier in the extended weekend, the #21 team was in the pit area at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa and Davenport Speedway in Davenport, Iowa for two more $3,000 to win MLRA showdowns. On Thursday night at Lee County, Billy placed third in his heat race before picking off six competitors during the 40-lapper en route to a strong fifth place showing behind only victor Chris Simpson, Tony Jackson, Jr., Jimmy Mars, and Chad Simpson. At Davenport on Friday, Billy effectively scratched from the program following a seventh place heat race finish on the 1/4-mile oval. Complete results from the MLRA triple shot can be viewed online at www.mlraracing.com.

“We just keep working at it; we’re doing a bunch of new stuff here,” commented Moyer following Saturday’s triumph while in MLRA victory lane. “We’ve had a lot of ups and downs, but we’re learning what we needed to learn. Just hopefully we keep getting a little bit better.” The popular driver known as “Mr. Smooth” would like to thank all of the valued sponsors on his Crop Production Services / Henderson Motorsports / Mesilla Valley Transportation / Karl Chevrolet / Karl Performance / Jack’s Carquest #21 Victory Race Car by Billy Moyer, as he could not do it without their dedication and support of his BMR team!

Next up for the Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team will be a trip to the Land of Lincoln where the MARS Dirt Car Series is set to preside over a huge weekend of dirt-slinging competition at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois and Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois from May 11-13. Up first will be a $3,000 to win shootout on Thursday at FCR leading into Friday’s lucrative ‘Farmer City 74,’ which boasts a whopping $20,000 top prize. The tripleheader will then conclude on Saturday at Fairbury, as the annual ‘FALS Frenzy’ will pay $10,000 to the winner.
