Lifestyle event has been referred to as “The Grateful Dead of automotive”

September 6, 2017, St. Louis Region – Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, Illinois will host the Roadkill Zip-Tie Drags on September 15-16. The wildly-popular series with its cult following of devoted fans expanded in 2017 to include St. Louis.

Auto enthusiasts will develop their drag racing skills, view cars of all kinds and share stories with David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan, hosts of Roadkill (@RoadkillShow), the world’s most-viewed YouTube automotive original series.

“I’m super excited to bring even more Roadkill Zip-Tie Drags directly to all the gearheads who were willing to travel across the country to be a part of a unique event like this,” said co-host David Freiburger. “People have referred to this as the Grateful Dead of automotive.”

Roadkill is a brand based on “automotive chaos theory” that was launched digitally on YouTube and has received more than 250 million video views to date. Today, Roadkill has expanded beyond digital video into print and events, drawing more than 50,000 spectators and participants to Roadkill Nights.

The Roadkill Zip-Tie Drags events will include:
Autograph session with HOT ROD’s Freiburger & Finnegan of Roadkill.
Drag racing, with the opportunity to race against HOT ROD’s Freiburger & Finnegan of Roadkill.
Test ‘n’ tune Friday and Saturday.
The $3,000 Hooptie Challenge for cars worth $3,000 or less.
Car show for unique autos — “anything can win.”
Drive-in theater — Roadkill episodes on the big screen.
Overnight tent and RV camping.
Bonfire and S’mores.
Live music and merchandise vendors.

Friday, September 15
3:30 p.m. — Gates and camping area open.
5:30 p.m. — Test ‘n’ Tune.
6:30 p.m. — Bonfire and S’mores party.
8:30 p.m. — Viewing party — Roadkill episodes on the jumbo screen.

Saturday, September 16
7:00 a.m. — Gates open.
10 a.m. — Test ‘n’ Tune.
10 a.m. — Autograph session.
1 p.m. — FvsF&F lotto drawing.
1:15 p.m. — Car show judging.
5 p.m. — $3,000 Hooptie Challenge roll call.
7 p.m. — $3,000 Hooptie Challenge drag race.
8 p.m. — Drag racing concludes.
8:45 p.m. — Awards.
10 p.m. — Event concludes.
ADMISSION AND ENTRY FEES:
Kids 12 & under are FREE.
Two-day participant — includes camping, Test ‘n’ Tune and racing for one participant: $40.
One-day participant (SATURDAY ONLY) — includes racing for one participant: $30.
Two-day car show participant — includes camping and all-day Saturday for one: $35.
One-day car show participant (SATURDAY ONLY) — includes all-day Saturday for one: $20.
Two-day spectator — includes camping and all-day Saturday for one: $20.
Saturday-only spectator — includes all-day Saturday for one: $15.
