(SOLON SPRINGS, WISCONSIN) The Brady Smith Racing team continued their recent onslaught on the upper Midwest over the September 14-15 weekend by sweeping the annual ‘Legendary 100’ at the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin! On Friday night, Brady Smith won his heat race and later took the lead on lap two of the preliminary feature event. The Solon Springs, Wisconsin ace then led the remainder of the distance en route to the $400 victory over A.J. Diemel, John Kaanta, Jimmy Mars, and Jake Redetzke.

Friday’s prelim win earned Brady the coveted pole position for the 50-lap ‘Legendary 100’ on Saturday evening. The popular driver known as “The Prodigy” grabbed the point at the drop of the green flag and paced the field for the first 22 circuits. Jimmy Mars held the lead for about ten laps before Brady worked his way back by to grab the top spot on lap 33. It was all Brady all the time after that, as he went on to capture the $5,000 winner’s check over Mars, A.J. Diemel, John Kaanta, and Nick Anvelink. Full results from the ‘Legendary 100’ weekend can be accessed by logging onto www.cedarlakespeedway.com.

“This has been a tremendous stretch for the Brady Smith Racing team and I can’t thank all of our sponsors and supporters enough,” stated Brady today. “Cedar Lake was a lot of fun, especially racing in front of so many of our fans. I didn’t expect the track to take rubber like it did and we were way too tight for that condition. But, things worked out and we got the win. I am looking forward to heading to Knoxville next week; that is one of my favorite shows of the year and we always enjoy racing at that place.”

While the #2 team has opted to take the upcoming September 21-22 weekend off from racing action, they will be busy prepping their equipment for the upcoming ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.’ The 9th annual version of the crown jewel extravaganza will take place from September 27-29 at the famous Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa. A pair of $7,000 to win preliminary shows are scheduled for Thursday and Friday, while the 100-lapper at the 1/2-mile Marion County fairgrounds oval on Saturday boasts a hefty $40,000 top prize. Brady was the 2007 victor of the ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals’ and will be looking for his second race title this year.
