Eldora Speedway(PINCONNING, MICHIGAN) The Iron Motorsports team invaded the renowned Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan on September 21-22 for the inaugural running of the ‘Down & Dirty 100.’ Over 300 truckloads of clay was placed on the 7/16-mile asphalt oval in preparation for the historic race, which boasted a hefty $20,000 top prize. After rain showers wiped out the preliminary action on Friday night, the entire show was condensed into a one-day program on Saturday.

Jeep Van Wormer timed in thirteenth fastest during the World of Outlaws Late Model Series qualifying session and later grabbed the fourth transfer spot through his loaded heat race. When the 100-lapper rolled off in front of the huge crowd, Jeep started the race from the outside of the fifth row. Unfortunately, the Pinconning, Michigan ace was an early retiree after only 11 circuits due to a rock penetrating his radiator and he finished twenty-second in the final rundown of the ‘Down & Dirty 100.’ Complete results from Berlin can be viewed online at www.worldofoutlaws.com.

The #55 team will now prepare their equipment for the upcoming ‘UMP Nationals’ at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on October 5-6. Qualifying will take place on that Friday night at the “Big E,” while heat races, consolation events, and the 40-lap main event are slated for Saturday evening. A $5,000 winner’s check will be on the line in the last big event of the UMP DIRTcar Series season. Additional information can be obtained by clicking on www.eldoraspeedway.com.
