Lucas Oil Late Model Series(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) After a long off-season since his last event at 201 Speedway on November 10, 2012, Josh McGuire hopes to break out with a bang in 2013 in his season opener this weekend at the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. Weather pending, Josh’s season lid lifter will be the 37th Annual ‘Spring 50’ at the Cincinnati-area speedplant on Saturday, March 16. A complete show featuring qualifying, heat races, consolation events, and the 50-lap main event will be held in two days time at the King family complex. The winner of the unsanctioned program will receive $5,000 for their effort.

Following Florence, the Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team will turn their focus to another springtime tradition – the annual running of the ‘Indiana Icebreaker.’ The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will once again preside over the one-day showdown at the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on Saturday, March 23. A $10,000 top prize will be on the line at the 1/4-mile fairgrounds oval next weekend. Additional information on Josh’s first two scheduled events of 2013 can be accessed by clicking on www.florencespeedway.com and www.brownstownspeedway.com.

“We are almost ready to roll,” quoted McGuire who has meticulously worked on his #41 machine throughout the four-month off-season. “I still have some things to finish up on the car before Saturday, but we are in better shape than usual at this point. I just have to thank all of my sponsors for their support and hopefully we can start off the season on a strong note at Florence this weekend.”
