GAFFNEY, SC (March 3, 2014) – Jason Hiett of Oxford, AL picked up $3,000 and his first-ever victory at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC during night one of March Madness on Saturday, March 1, which was sanctioned by the Southern Nationals Bonus Races.
Defending Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series Champion Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, GA then led all 60 laps on Sunday evening, March 2 for the $10,000 payday in the Southern Nationals Bonus Race at Cherokee Speedway. This was Davenport’s third career March Madness victory.
The next Southern Nationals Bonus Races will be a doubleheader of racing on Sunday, May 25 at Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, TN paying $5,000 to win then on Monday, May 26 at Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, NC paying $3,000 to win. The Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series presented by Schaeffer’s Oil will kick off March 14-15 at Volunteer (TN) Speedway for the Spring Thaw weekend, which will pay $4,000 and $10,000 to win respectively.
