show-me-100-2014Batesville, Arkansas (05/21/14) – Jared Landers matched his best finish of the 2014 season thus far with a runner-up finish on Saturday night in his #777 Crop Production Services/Rocket/Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model at La Salle Speedway (La Salle, Illinois) in Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) competition.

The weekend took Jared Landers and the Double L Motorsports team to northern Illinois for a pair of $10,000-to-win, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) events at La Salle Speedway (La Salle, Illinois).

Friday night’s program was nixed by rain, and as a result the weekend was reduced to a single, $10,000-to-win race on Saturday night where thirty-seven competitors were registered for battle. Jared started on the front row of his heat race via his qualifying efforts and won, earning him the pole position for the feature with Scott Bloomquist starting alongside. Landers assumed the point at the drop of the green flag and set the pace out front. Jared continued to lead beyond the halfway point before a hard charging Jimmy Owens reeled him in. The duo battle side-by-side before Owens gained the top spot on lap 37. Owens would lead the remaining laps for the win while Landers settled into the second position. Scott Bloomquist, Earl Pearson Jr. and Don O’Neal rounded out the top five finishers.

“We obviously wanted the win, but we are very happy with a second place finish,” said Landers. “It felt good to lead some laps, and hopefully moving forward we can build on what we accomplished at La Salle.”

Jared is now eighth in the latest LOLMDS standings. Full results and complete series standings are available at www.LucasDirt.com .

The #777 Double L Motorsports team now turns their attention to the 22nd Annual Show Me 100 festivities, which will be held at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri) May 22nd-24th. Action opens on Thursday night with a $5,000-to-win, Lucas Oil MLRA Late Model Series event, which is tabbed as the inaugural Cowboy Classic. Friday and Saturday night will see the $30,000-to-win, 22nd Annual Show Me 100 contested, which will be sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
