DIRTcar Summer NationalsFairbury Speedway Officials have announced the rescheduling of the Late Model UMP Summer Nationals for the Friday Night of the Prairie Dirt Classic on July 25th. In extensive meetings with UMP, World of Outlaw and Fairbury Officials, this was the best possible solution to draw as many fans and drivers for the make-up feature. Several options were discussed and the two best scenarios were as follows:

Run a mid-week show picking up with Late Model B-main and 4 features only, which would have been only five races. In discussing this option, the main problem we evaluated was traveling fans and drivers not being able to make the trip for a stand-alone event.

The other option considered was attaching the makeup Late Model Summer National event to the Friday night of the Prairie Dirt Classic on July 25th. This option was one that was deemed to be of the greatest benefit to the largest number of fans and race teams. Research showed that a vast majority of fans and virtually all the drivers and race teams that were at the Summer Nationals event have made plans to attend the Prairie Dirt Classic weekend on July 25th & 26th.

After much deliberation, we felt that option two was the best possible solution for both our fans and race teams.

Fairbury Speedway Officials took into heavy consideration our traveling fans and drivers to help minimize as many expenses as possible when incorporating it with the PDC. Fairbury Speedway is committed to the full Summer Nationals payout in all divisions. Please bear in mind, the payouts from the June 21st rain out will be paid in full on the respective make up nights.

Friday Night’s PDC race schedule will now include World of Outlaw hot-laps, qualifying and 15 lap heat races along with a full program for the UMP Modifieds paying $1500 to win followed by the rescheduled UMP Summer Nationals Late Model b-main and feature event.

Saturday’s schedule of events will include World of Outlaws b-mains, the 100 lap $25,000 to win 25th Anniversary of the Prairie Dirt Classic, 5th annual Prairie Dirt Shootout and a full UMP Modified show paying $2,500 to win.

With the addition of the 50 lap, $10,000 to win Summer Nationals make-up feature presented by Lynn Chevrolet-Buick to our Friday night schedule, this weekend will be the most anticipated and highest paying event in Illinois dirt racing history.

All prices will remain as advertised for the Prairie Dirt Classic weekend including reserved camping and reserved seats.   General admission for Friday Night’s event is $15.00; Saturday’s general admission will be $30.00 with a weekend pass available for $40.00.

The Fairbury Speedway truly appreciates all the continuing support of the loyal fans for all their comments and concerns. We are committed to making the best decisions possible under the circumstances we were dealt. We value each and every one of our fans and competitors and have made our decisions based on what we feel is in the best interest of everyone involved.
