TAZEWELL, TENNESSEE (August 2, 2014) – Eric Jacobsen took the lead on lap thirty from Brad Neat and held on to claim his second-career Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series event victory Saturday Night at Tazewell Speedway.

The Rio Del Mar, CA driver became the eighth different winner on the tour and pocked $5,300 for the victory while driving the Soil Fume, Inc. and Penske Shocks sponsored, Roush Yates-powered Rocket Chassis. This was also the track that Jacobsen claimed his first-career Super Late Model start which was May of 2011.

In post-race celebrations, Chris Madden of Gray Court, SC claimed his fifth career series championship since 2007. Madden finished thirty-one points ahead of Eric Jacobsen in the title chase. Billy Ogle Jr. of Knoxville, TN finished third in the series point totals and since he won the Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals title, it made him the Overall Champion of the two tours picking up points fund monies from that as well. Austin Smith of Cedartown, GA was named the AR Bodies Rookie of the Year driver as he finished just two markers ahead of Craig Vosbergen from Perth, Australia in the final tally.

The Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series presented by Old Man’s Garage would like to thank all of the drivers, sponsors, hosting tracks and their crews, series officials and most of all the great fans that came out and made the series a huge success.
