Gateway Motorsports ParkAs one of the most talked about new drivers in recent years, and the youngest driver to ever win a NASCAR truck race, Jones will be in town to promote the race, throw out the first pitch at a baseball game.

May 26, 2015, St. Louis Region –  With just seven laps to go and leading the first-ever NASCARâ„¢ Camping World Truck Series American Ethanol presents Drivin’ for Linemen 200 brought to you by Ameren at Gateway Motorsports Park, Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota driver Erik Jones’ quest to win was abruptly ended with a hit by German Quiroga that took both drivers out of the running.

Jones, who in November 2013 at Phoenix International Raceway became the youngest winner in truck series history, was visibly upset after wrecking hard. The two teams got into a mighty brawl in the pits. The event made for great racing and even better drama. Now Jones is ready to even the score with a win at return of the NASCAR™ Camping World Truck Series Drivin’ for Linemen 200 at Gateway Motorsports Park Saturday, June 13, 2015.

Jones is coming to the St. Louis area for a media tour.  He will be available for interviews Tuesday, June 2 and Wednesday June 3, 2015.  Interviews will be scheduled on a first come, first serve basis.  As in media tours over the past few years, Jones can either join you in the studio or you can come to Gateway Motorsports Park.

To schedule an interview, please contact Susan Ryan at 314-304-6800 or susan.c.ryan@att.net.

Erik Jones Setting Himself Apart At A Young Age

Jones entered the 2015 season competing full-time in the NASCAR™ Camping World Truck Series for Kyle Busch Motorsports and part-time in the NASCAR™ XFINITY Series for Joe Gibbs Racing. Jones was put on standby in Charlotte in case Kyle Busch couldn’t run the entire 600 lap race.  Currently, Jones stands second in standings behind Matt Crafton.  Jones is also a frontrunner in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year race.

Jones became the first driver in NASCARâ„¢ national series history to win five national series races before the age of 19. The historic win at Texas breaks his tie with Chase Elliott (four wins) for the most national series wins by a driver under the age of 19.

In fact, there have only been 14 races won by drivers under the age of 18 — and Jones now has 35% of those victories.

Jones’ win at Texas was the fifth of his NASCAR™ national series career but just the first in the NASCAR™ XFINITY Series and driving for Joe Gibbs Racing. Jones also has posted four wins in the N NASCAR™ Camping World Truck Series driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports.
