(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) “Mr. Smooth” Billy Moyer bagged his sixth feature victory of 2015 and win #799 of his illustrious career on Tuesday night, August 4 at West Liberty Raceway in West Liberty, Iowa! After winning his heat race in preliminary action, Billy started the ‘Tornado Tuesday’ main event from the pole position. Billy then led each and every circuit of the 50-lapper, which was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil MLRA Series, to claim the $10,000 windfall over Mike Marlar, Chris Simpson, Tim McCreadie, and Gregg Satterlee.

Over the weekend, Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) strolled north to the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin from July 30-August 1 for the 28th Annual ‘USA Nationals.’ The World of Outlaws Late Model Series three-day weekend kicked off with a $6,000 to win shootout on Thursday night. Billy knocked down the quickest lap of the 48 entrants during qualifying and later scored the victory in heat race action. After leading laps 11-17 of the 40-lapper, Billy wound up a strong third in the final rundown behind only victor Jonathan Davenport and runner-up Billy Moyer, Jr.

On Friday evening at CLS, Billy timed in eighth fastest in Group A during WOOLMS qualifying prior to claiming another heat race triumph. The Batesville, Arkansas star also won the dash and the special FANSFund Dash, which netted him an extra $2,500. After rolling off from the pole in Saturday’s $50,000 to win crown jewel extravaganza, Billy led lap one and stayed near the front of the field throughout the 100-lap grind. At the conclusion of the ‘USA Nationals,’ Billy was an impressive runner-up behind only race winner Jonathan Davenport! Complete results from the hectic stretch of racing can be accessed online at www.woolms.com and www.mlraracing.com.

“We made a late decision to run at West Liberty and it paid off for us,” commented Moyer yesterday. “I feel like we have had a pretty good combination with our Moyer Victory Chassis at some of the shorter tracks that we have raced on this summer, but we haven’t really been on a lot of big tracks. I am still learning on this car, but we threw some stuff at it and I couldn’t be happier with the results!”

Next up for the #21 team will be a pair of Corn Belt Clash Late Model Series battles on August 7-8 in the states of Iowa and Wisconsin. On Friday night, Fayette County Speedway in West Union, Iowa will play host to a $5,000 to win throwdown, while the Lafayette County Speedway in Darlington, Wisconsin will wrap up the doubleheader on Saturday evening with the ‘Ralph Fryer Memorial,’ which boasts a $5,400 top prize.
