NASRA Announces Weight/Tire Rules and Race Procedure Change

NASRABerea, KY- March 14, 2011- National All Star Racing Association series director Jeff Evans would like to announce the weight rules and tire rules for the various engine packages legal in competition for 2011 with the NASRA tour, along with one race procedure change as well.

For racers choosing to use the 602 or 604 crate engine combinations, the car and driver must weigh 2,100 lbs. and will use an 8” spoiler.  The tire rule will be open on the front, with the Hoosier 1350 or American Racer 48 on the left rear only.  The Hoosier LM40 or 1600, American Racer MD56, and Goodyear 50 are allowed for the right rear and these tires must durometer a minimum of 60.

Those racers that choose to utilize a steel-block engine combination, the car and driver must weigh 2,200 lbs. and will use an 8” spoiler.  The tire rule will be open on the front, while the Hoosier LM40 or 1600, American Racer MD56, and Goodyear 50 will the tire of choice for the rear and these tires must durometer a minimum of 60.

If a racer chooses to use the CT525 crate engine package, the car and driver must weigh 2,200 lbs. and will use an 8” spoiler.  The tire rule will be open on the front, while the Hoosier LM40 or 1600, American Racer MD56, and Goodyear 50 will the tire of choice for the rear and these tires must durometer a minimum of 60.

For the racer that uses the open engine package, the car and driver must weigh 2,300 lbs. and use an 8” spoiler.  The tire rule will be open on the front, while the Hoosier LM40 or 1600, American Racer MD56, and Goodyear 50 will the tire of choice for the rear and these tires must durometer a minimum of 60.

There will be one race procedures change for 2011.  If a car and driver stop on the track, they must restart at the rear.  However, if a car and driver stop or spin to avoid an incident, that car and driver will retain their position in the running order.
