Racin’ For the “Ta Tas” Goes Top Less

(August 1, 2010) Highland IL – Highland Speedway is a raceway deep in tradition. One of the longstanding traditions has been holding benefit races for different charitable organizations.

This Tuesday night, August 3rd, The Highland Speedway will be host to Racin’ For A Cause. Affectionately called “Racin’ For The Ta Tas”. The proceeds for this race benefit the St. Louis Chapter of the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Research Foundation

The inspiration of the race came for Jackie Eilers and Jamie Bircher, whose friend lost her Mother recently to the disease. The dedication of these two ladies and their volunteers has turned this event into one of the largest races for the Speedway this season.

Local business have donated everything from Cardinal tickets to bicycles to be raffled off. There will be shirts and decals commemorating the event available the night of the race.

NASCAR driver Kenny Schrader will be in attendance along with some of the biggest name in dirt racing. Also in attendance will be the Hooter Girls.

First place payout for the UMP Super Late Models is $3000 and the UMP Modifieds will be racing for $750, also on the program will be the Extreme Sportsmen racing for $500 to win, The Street Stocks go at a $350 first place purse, and the winning Factory Stock driver will receive $200.  There is also a Hard Charger award and every participant that purchases a “Ta Tas” sticker and displays it on their racer and wins their respective class will receive a $50 bonus.

An added bonus for the fans is the Late Models, Modifieds and the Sportsmen will be taking their roofs off and running “Top Less”.

The pit gate open at 2 pm pill draw ends at 6 pm and the racing starts at 6:30 pm.

Business or large groups who donate $1000 will receive 10 grandstand admission tickets and 10 Hospitality armbands where food and refreshments will be served. Their name will also be placed on a large banner to be displayed the night of the race.
