Springfield RacewaySpringfield,Mo.-Sat July 23rd will mark the start of the 2nd half of the Racing season Transport Graphics Championship Chase and what a way to start as the Reliable Chevrolet GM Performance B-Mods will be competing in the 2nd annual Reliable Chevrolet Shootout with the winner taking home a cool $500 to win while starting the A Feature will pay $75.

This will be a points race for the B-Mods and they will draw for heat race positions and using passing points. The Top 8 in passing points will be brought to the frontstretch for the redraw for their starting spots.

Last year, Jon Yeoman Jr took advantage of the redraw as did JC”The Kid” Morton and finished 1-2 in the thrilling 20 lap feature. With the extra money that GM Performance contributes to the weekly points shows at SpringfieldRaceway, the winner if using a GM 602 Crate Motor could walk away with even more money especially if they purchased it from Reliable Chevrolet in Springfield,Mo.

Action will also feature the Budweiser USRA RHS A-Mods as some extra sponsorship has been put in making the feature winner take home an extra $100.The Casey’s General stores Midwest Modz,Missouri Legends,Wheeler Metals PureStocks and Pepsi FactoryStocks will also be in action starting the 2nd half of the season. All drivers in al classes will draw for heat positions and line-up the features by passing points.

Current season Long Point leaders include Jackie Dalton of Carthage(USRA Modifieds) with a 59 point lead over Jody Tillman of Branson while defending champion Mitch Keeter of Webb City is only 20 behind Tillman and Springfield’s hard-charging Erik Maggard just 4 behind Keeter.Keeter has won the last 2 straight USRA Modified features at the Quick-Quarter.

The Reliable Chevrolet GM Performance B-Mods have an outstanding battle going on as Bobby Magard,Jr of Republic maintains a 3 point margin over Mike Hailman of ReedSprings while JC Morton of Springfield in only 4 points out of the top spot. Both Maggard Jr and Morton are powered by GM 602 Crate motors.
4th generation driver Trevor Drake of Webb City holds a commanding lead in the Casey’s General stores Midwest Modz class, but the dog-fight for second is tight as Sam Petty of Niangua maintains a 12 point margin over veteran Randy Belk of Joplin for second place as Rusty Forrest of Ozark,Gary Krebs of Clever and Miami,Oklahoma’s Matthew Thulin round out a tough top 5.

Missouri Legends driver Dave Comer of Joplin has pulled out to a 22 point lead over Park Jones of Joplin as these 2 drivers have went back and forth all during the first half.Rolla’s Wayne Johnston has climbed to third only 6 points behind Jones as defending champion Justin Comer and Springfield’s Jay Reynolds complete the top 5 as action has been in the Legends action all season long.

Branson’s Bryan Tillman lost his first feature event 2 weeks ago but still holds a 21 point margin over Niangua’s Tim Petty in the FactoryStock class.A late season rule change allows FactoryStocks to compete at SpringfieldRaceway by running your home tracks rules but no Tubular Front or Rear-ends allows. The class shot upward in car count 2 weeks ago as Burl Woods of Republic stopped Tillman’s streak by passing Tillman at the halfway mark of the feature event.

Ava’s Jack Hamer maintains a big lead over Springfield’s James Redus in the PureStock division while the Oklahoma duo of Wayne Morris and Jeremy Thulin are close to Redus.Springfieldarea driver and rookie Philip Schloesser and 16 year old Bret Testerman are close in also.
