(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS)  Dennis Erb picked up his first victory of the young 2011 season by flushing the competition in the annual ‘Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic’ at the Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee on Saturday night, March 12!  Dennis timed his #28 Team Zero entry in second fastest in his group during the qualifying session and later won his heat race.  The Carpentersville, Illinois native then came out on top of a great battle with Ronnie Johnson and Wendell Wallace during the 40-lapper to claim the $5,000 victory.  He beat Wallace, Johnson, Terry English, and Ryan Unzicker to the finish line to not only earn first place prize money, but also the unique toilet bowl trophy.

A night earlier, the #28 team was also in action at Clarksville in a $3,000 to win program, which was also sanctioned by both the UMP DIRTcar Series and MARS DIRTcar Series.  Dennis laid down the third quickest lap in his group during qualifying and later grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot in his stacked heat race.  After rolling off from the outside of the eighth row in the 30-lap main event, Dennis picked off seven competitors en route to a solid ninth place performance.  Full results from the ‘Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic’ weekend can be found online at www.marsracingseries.com.

“It feels good to get that first win of the season under our belt and our first victory in our Bloomquist racecar,” exclaimed Erb following the hard-fought Clarksville triumph.  “Clarksville put on a great show on Saturday night and (Ronnie) Johnson and (Wendell) Wallace sure made me work for the win.  Our car was really dialed in and I am very pleased with how the Bloomquist car performed all weekend really.  On Friday, we just started too far back and the race was only thirty laps, but I feel like we had a good car that night as well to get up to ninth.  Hopefully, this win will trigger some momentum and we can have a great season!”

Next up for the Dennis Erb Racing team will be another trip to the Volunteer State of Tennessee this Saturday, March 19, as they are set to invade the ultra-fast Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee.  Weather pending, “The Gap” will play host to the annual running of the ‘Spring Thaw’ this Saturday night.  A $10,000 winner’s check will be on the line at the 4/10-mile oval in the 60-lap main event.  Additional information concerning the one-day ‘Spring Thaw’ program can be located by clicking on www.volunteerspeedway.com.
