Denny Woodworth, Steven DeLonjay, Kevin Tomlinson, Tanner Klingele and Todd Nelson all scored feature event wins at Quincy Raceways on Sunday July 10 during Quincy Action Hobby & Gem City Ford Night at the races. It was  very hot and steamy night but the action at the “Broadway Bullring” was even hotter as some of the best racing of the season took place.

Denny Woodworth started the Budweiser IMCA Late Model main event in the seventh spot and climbed into the lead by the seventh lap and never really had to look back to worry about the second place runner. Woodworth crossed the finish line several car lengths in front of Joey Gower in second, Justin Reed in third, Lonnie Bailey in fourth and Keith Pratt in fifth. Gower and Dustin Neese were the heat race winner. Justin Reed took home the bonus money in the Quincy Action Hobby Dash for Cash along with an awesome RC Late Model. Reed jumped into the lead of the special twelve lap event at the drop of the green flag and held off Keith Pratt to take the win. Woodworth scored third with Gower in fourth and Billy Genenbacher in fifth.

Steven DeLonjay took the lead away from Dave Wietholder on the twenty first lap of the twenty five lap main event for the Miller Lite UMP Modifieds after a race long battle between Wietholder and Jared Schlipman that was three wide on several occasions. DeLonjay’s win was his fourth in a row and fifth for the 2011 season. Schlipman scored second followed by Wietholder in third, Troy Grotz in fourth and Steve Grotz in fifth. Schlipman and Shawn Deering were the heat race winners.

The Triple R Performance Engines IMCA Stock Car main event was one for the ages as the top three cars raced side by side for thirteen of the fifteen circuits. Andrew Griffin had the early lead by a nose with Kevin Tomlinson and Terry Houston battling three wide for the lead lap after lap. The lead went back and forth between the three until lap thirteen when Griffin blasted into turn one on the low side just a little too hard, spinning to the infield. Tomlinson then took over the top spot and held off Houston for the win with Aaron Brocksieck in third, Jerry Jansen in fourth and Gabe Harrison in fifth. Griffin was the lone heat race winner.

Brandon Symmonds took the early lead of the KRNQ Pepsi Inside Track Hobby Stock feature event but Tanner Klingele had his sights set on the lead after several weeks of some bad carma. Klingele took over the top spot on lap five but Symmonds was not going to give up as the two raced side by side for several laps with edging past Klingele on lap seventeen for the lead. Klingele made a super move in turns one and two to regain the top spot with Symmonds doing everything he could to stay in contention. Klingele lead by less than a car length at the checkered flag with Symmonds settling for second followed by Jake Powers in third, Jeremy Buss in fourth and Jim Powell in fifth. Klingele and Steve Carlin were the heat race winners.

Todd Nelson made it two in a row in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Wild Thing main event. Nelson took the win over Casey Kendrick in second, Robert Thompson in third, Austin Uppinghouse in fourth and Brandon Lambert in fifth. Thompson and Kendrick were the heat race winners.
