Billy Moyer Jr. Claims Fifth Win of 2011; Busy Labor Day Weekend

Tri-City SpeedwayBatesville, Arkansas (08/30/11) – Billy Moyer Jr. powered his #21jr Henderson Motorsports/Car City/Imperial Motors/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model to his fifth win of the year by claiming top honors on Friday night at Tri City Speedway (Pontoon Beach, Illinois).

Jr. Motorsports entered three events over the course of the weekend. The team traveled to the 1/4 mile oval at Highland Speedway (Highland, Illinois) on Thursday night for a $5,000-to-win, UMP Vs. MARS Dirt Car event. Thirty-six Super Late Models entered the event and via heat race action, Billy locked into the 12th starting spot for the main event. In the feature, Moyer Jr. would slip back as far as the 15th position early in the event before mounting a strong charge through the field to a seventh place finish at the checkered flag. Friday night was a great outing for the team as they made the trip to Tri City Speedway (Pontoon Beach, Illinois) for a UMP Weekly Racing Series Event. A strong field of 23 Super Late Models entered the event, and Billy started the night by winning the third heat race to earn the third starting spot in the pole-sitter’s dash. After finishing second in the dash, Moyer Jr. earned the second starting spot for the feature alongside pole-sitter, Bobby Pierce Jr.

As the race went green Billy would quickly jump to the lead and went on to claim the win over Bobby Pierce Jr., Brandon Sheppard, Chad Zobrist, and Dewaine Kiefer. The win marked his fifth triumph of the 2011 season! Full results are available at www.TriCitySpeedway.net.

Billy concluded his three race weekend on Saturday night at I-55 Raceway (Pevely, Missouri) in another $5,000-to-win, MARS/UMP DIRTCar Super Late Model event. On the heels of finishing third in his heat race, Moyer Jr. earned the 11th starting spot for the feature. However, after battling an ill-handling car early in the main event Billy would retire to a 23rd place finish. Full results are available at www.MARSRacingSeries.com.
