(LEBANON, Missouri) Lebanon I-44 Speedway will honor the 2011 champions and top finishers of the track’s 2011 ASA-sanctioned stock car racing points season this Saturday night, November 5, at the ‘Monster Energy Chase for the Cup’ championship awards banquet in Lebanon.
Slated for the Foyer of Lebanon’s Kenneth Cowan Civic Center, the evening will begin with a cocktail reception at 6 pm, followed by a buffet dinner at 7 pm and awards honoring season-long achievements in the track’s five-division ‘Kickin’ Asphalt’ racing program beginning at 8 pm. A live DJ and dancing will complete the awards gala from 9 pm to 11 pm.
“This championship awards ceremony is really all about honoring the commitment and season-long achievements of our racers,” said I-44 Speedway promoter Craig Armstrong. “And not just our five class champions, but everyone who put forth the effort to race hard and put on great shows, week in and week out, for our race fans. Hats off to them for a great 2011 season at I-44 Speedway, and here’s to a fun and memorable evening thank them and give them the accolades that they truly deserve!”
Each of I-44 Speedway’s five 2011 ASA stock car class champions will receive a portion of the ASA season points fund, along with a beautiful engraved ‘Monster Energy Cup’ trophy, during ceremonies to recognize the top drivers in season points in each class. Special awards, including Rookie of the Year in each class, Special Service recognition, Crew Chief of the Year, Sportsman of the Year and a ‘Hard Luck’ award will also be presented.
The 2011 ASA stock car champions are Chrissy Wallace of Concord, NC in Late Models, Tyler Scott of Nixa in Modifieds, Rick Sharp of Fair Grove in the Sportsman class, Mike Scott from Rogersville in Road Warriors, and Shawn Jones of Belle in the four-cylinder, subcompact Charger class. The top ten in the Late Model class will receive trophies, while the top eight in Modifieds and Chargers and the top five in the Sportsman class and Road Warriors will also receive trophies and awards.
Lebanon I-44 Speedway’s complete 2012 racing schedule is currently being finalized, and will be posted on the facility’s official website, www.i44speedway.net by November 20, as well as the 2012 racecar construction and general rules. The 2012 season will officially open on Saturday, April 28, with the popular five-division ‘Kickin’ Asphalt’ stock car racing show.
