Lucas Oil Late Model SeriesCalhoun City, Mississippi (03/27/12) –Klint Byars will take his #5 Southern Belle/K&K Motorsports/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model into battle this weekend in a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) events in Mississippi and Texas.

Last Saturday night found Klint in action with the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi). Byars began the night by setting fast-time in his group and fast-time overall to earn the pole position for the dash. He would slip to a fifth place finish in the dash, which resulted in him starting fifth on the grid for the 50 lap, $2,500-to-win feature. As the main event went green Byars would battle in the top five as he slowly began to work his way towards the front of the pack. Late in the race Klint would make his way to the second spot as he set his sights on the leader, Bub McCool. With the race approaching its closing laps Byars began applying heavy pressure to the leader, Bub McCool, and would make several attempts to gain the top spot. Despite his best efforts Klint would fall just short of claiming the win as he recorded a season-best, second place finish to McCool. Full results are available at www.StateSeries.com.

This weekend, March 30th-31st, K&K Motorsports has a tall order as they look to tackle a pair of $10,000-to-win, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events. On Friday night the tour makes its debut at Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi) before moving onto Lone Star Speedway (Kilgore, Texas) on Saturday night, where Klint will be competing for the first time.
