DIRTcar Summer Nationals(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) “Mr. Smooth” Billy Moyer knocked down his twelfth feature win of the 2012 campaign last Friday night, June 22 at the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois! Billy had some issues during qualifying and only posted the fifth fastest lap in his group, but later rebounded to score the win in his heat race. After drawing the third starting spot prior to the 50-lap UMP Summer Nationals main event, Billy hounded race leader Randy Korte for the top spot early before grabbing the point on lap twenty-nine. The Batesville, Arkansas star then led the remainder of the distance to claim the $10,000 winner’s share over Brian Shirley, Brian Birkhofer, Bobby Pierce, and Dennis Erb, Jr. Full results and coverage can be located online at www.dirtondirt.com.

“That place (Tri-City Speedway) has been awfully good to us the past couple of years,” Moyer responded after his $10,000 victory last Friday. “Our hotrod runs really strong there and it seems like the track is always racy and it is a blast to drive. I feel bad for the incident between me and (Randy) Korte while battling for the lead, but I feel like I gave him a lane up top and didn’t crowd him into the wall. It was unfortunate because we are friends and we were putting on a pretty good show for the lead.”

The Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team will look for similar success when they enter a trio of UMP Summer Nationals tilts this upcoming weekend (June 28-30). A $5,000 top prize is on the line tonight at the Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, Tennessee. The Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky will then take center stage on Friday night by playing host to a $12,000 to win “Hell Tour” showdown. The triple shot of UMP Summer Nationals action for the #21 team will then conclude on Saturday evening with a $10,000 to win event at the Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri. Additional information on the tripleheader can be viewed by logging onto www.thehelltour.com.
