Rick Eckert Eleventh in Conococheague 50; Heads to Badger State this Week

World of Outlaws Late Model Series(YORK, PENNSYLVANIA) Rick Eckert and his #24 team returned to competition on Saturday night, July 28 at the legendary Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned the 31st Annual ‘Conococheague 50’ and a $10,000 top prize was on the line.

Rick ran third in his loaded heat race behind Steve Francis and Don O’Neal to earn the ninth starting spot in the 50-lapper. “Scrub” then battled hard at the 1/2-mile oval and eventually landed in the eleventh position following the completion of the ‘Conococheague 50.’ Complete results from Hagerstown can be accessed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

The Rick Eckert Racing team will now shift their focus to a huge week in the Badger State of Wisconsin. Up first will be a trip to the Shawano Speedway in Shawano, Wisconsin tonight, August 1 for a $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model Series tilt. The dirt-slinging action will then turn to the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin from August 2-4.

On Thursday night, the Corn Belt Clash tour will sanction a $5,000 to win show at CLS, which will kick-off the huge 25th Annual ‘USA Nationals.’ The World of Outlaws Late Model Series will then preside over the two-day ‘USA Nationals’ on Friday and Saturday. The winner of the 100-lapper on Saturday evening will receive a hefty $50,000 payday. Rick was the 2002 victor of the ‘USA Nationals’ and will come into this week second in the current version of the WOOLMS point standings.
