Muskogee, OK (October 5, 2012) – Jesse Stovall of Republic, MO wins night one of Thunderfest at Thunderbird Speedway Friday night. Stovall bested the 22 car starting field by leading every lap and withstanding several charges by runner-up finisher Will Vaught of Crane, MO.

Vaught made Stovall earn every penny of the $3,000 winner’s share. On the last lap, Stovall went high in turn one to put a lap down on Enid Oklahoma driver, Cliff Morrow. Vaught noticed an opportunity as he went low tried to steal the win away from Stovall. As the trio exited turn two, Stovall would muscle his way through and pick up his 7th win of the 2012 season.

Vaught, the defending Thunderfest Champion, finished second. Jon Kirby of Russellville, AR; Terry Phillips of Springfield, MO and Justin Zeitner of LaVista, NE rounded out the top five.

Next up for the MARS series will be the second and final night of Thunderfest at Thunderbird Speedway on October 6, 2012.

The MARS DIRTcar Series would like to thank their sponsors for the 2012 season. Hoosier Racing Tire, Libscomb Auto Group, Powertrain Industries, VP Race Fuels, Wrisco Aluminum, GRT Race Cars, Hatfield Racing Engines, Race Brothers Farm & Home Supply, Supermoon Graphics, Off Axis Custom Paint, Don Babb Motorsports, Comp Cams, Rod End Suppy and Vicci.
