Lucas Oil Late Model Series(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The Dennis Erb Racing team kept their eye on the radar over the March 29-30 weekend and wound up at the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois for the ‘Thaw Brawl.’ On Friday night during a UMP DIRTcar Series event, Dennis Erb, Jr. laid down the fastest lap of the 46 entrants during the qualifying session and later took the win in his heat race. After starting the 30-lap main event from the pole position, Dennis grabbed the lead officially on the second circuit and drove to the $2,000 triumph over Austin Hubbard, Jimmy Mars, Frank Heckenast, Jr., and Jason Feger!

At LaSalle on Saturday evening, the ‘Thaw Brawl’ concluded with a $10,000 to win American Late Model Series (ALMS) showdown. Dennis posted the fastest lap in his group during time trials and later placed second in his loaded heat race. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace then had a solid run in the 50-lapper and eventually crossed underneath the checkers in the seventh position. Full results from the LaSalle double-dip can be viewed online at www.lasallespeedway.com.

“It was a pretty good weekend for us and I was happy we could get to race somewhere after Paducah and Pevely rained-out,” stated Erb from his race shop this week. “The car was fast all weekend and we were able to get another win on Friday night against a strong field of cars. Then on Saturday, we qualified good and ran second in the heat race, but the track didn’t seem like it was overly racy and we started sixth and finished seventh. It has been a terrific start to our year and I look forward to getting back on the Lucas Oil trail this weekend in Mississippi and Texas!”

The #28 team will resume the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series schedule this upcoming weekend (April 5-6) with a trip to the Deep South. A pair of $10,000 to win programs will be held on Friday night at the Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, Mississippi and on Saturday evening at the Lonestar Speedway in Kilgore, Texas. Each show will feature qualifying, heat races, consolation events, and a 50-lap A-Main. Dennis comes into Jackson tomorrow night second in the latest version of the heated LOLMDS point standings.
