Lucas Oil Late Model Series(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The Dennis Erb Racing team took advantage of a rare weekend off from the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tour on April 26-27 to compete in a pair of races in their home state of Illinois. On Friday night at the Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois, the ‘Douglas Dodge 50’ paid $5,000 to the winner. Dennis Erb, Jr. laid down the seventh quickest lap of the 32 entrants during the qualifying session and later took the win in his loaded heat race. After starting the 50-lap feature event from the inside of the second row, Dennis took the lead around the midway point in the race and led up until lap 48. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace wound up a strong runner-up in the ‘Douglas Dodge 50′ behind only winner Jason Feger.

On Saturday evening, the dirt-slinging action quickly shifted to the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois for a $1,200 to win weekly program. Dennis posted the fastest lap in his group during time trials and once again won his heat race. He was then leading the A-Main on lap 21 when he unfortunately suffered a flat right rear tire. Dennis was credited with a disappointing twelfth place performance following the completion of the 25-lap race. Complete results from the doubleheader weekend can be viewed online at www.farmercityracing.com and www.lasallespeedway.com.

The ultra-competitive Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will return to action this upcoming weekend (May 3-4) with a pair of $10,000 to win battles in the states of Illinois and Kentucky. Dennis and the rest of the cars and stars of the series will roll into the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois on Friday and the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky on Saturday. Both complete shows will feature time trials, heat races, consolation events, and a 50-lap A-Main. Dennis comes into the weekend fifth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings.
