(May 29, 2013) Wheatland, MO – Fresh off of a monster weekend of racing in the Lucas Oil Show Me 100 Presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com, the stars of the Lucas Oil MLRA will be in action at a pair of Missouri ovals this weekend. Friday will see the series at Mike Franks’ US 36 Raceway in Osborn, MO, and Saturday racing will commence from Mike and Carolyn White’s LA Raceway in La Monte, MO. John Anderson won last year’s stop at US 36 Raceway, and Billy Moyer Jr. took the checkers at LA Raceway. Both races will pay the winner $3,000.

Cameron, Missouri’s Mark Dotson is definitely licking his chops in anticipation for the weekend. US 36 Raceway is Dotson’s home track, and a place where he has as many laps as anyone. “US 36 is an extremely fast and banked,” said Dotson. “Typically it’s hooked up but, smooth too. If you like speed, that’s the place to go. When it opened I missed the first couple of years, but have raced there a lot since then.” Most of Dotson’s action has come by way of the Modified division, but he did compete in his Late Model there last July for the Lucas Oil MLRA race.

An April chassis switch to Moyer Victory Circle Race Cars is yielding the veteran racer more confidence. “Our stuff is starting to roll. We were fast over the course of the Show Me 100 weekend, but just had some mechanical things go wrong. I think if we can put a complete night together, we’re about ready to win a race or two.” This confidence bodes well for Dotson’s psyche heading into LA Raceway Saturday. He ran third in the series only visit there in 2012. “La Monte is really racy. If you have a good car, you can get up front and move around. I really enjoy racing there too.”

Dotson will have his hands full, with the best drivers in the midwest set to converge on the Show Me state this weekend. The points are still very close. This weekend will go a long way in determining the players for the 2013 championship.
