Lucas Oil Late Model Series(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Jimmy Mars and his #28 team invaded the Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas on August 16-18 for the 21st Annual ‘Topless 100.’ The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series once again presided over the prestigious roofless event and a hefty $40,000 top prize was on the line. On Friday night, Jimmy laid down the fifth quickest lap in Group B during time trials and later finished a strong second in his heat race behind only prelim victor Jesse Stovall.

Following a rain-out on Saturday evening, Jimmy started the 100-lap crown jewel main event on Sunday afternoon from the outside of the fifth row. The Menomonie, Wisconsin standout was then able to pick off four competitors during the extra-distance affair to claim a solid sixth place performance. At the conclusion of the ‘Topless 100,’ Jimmy trailed only winner Terry Phillips, Jimmy Owens, Dale McDowell, Chris Madden, and Earl Pearson, Jr. Complete results from the long Batesville weekend can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

The Mars Racing team has decided to stick closer to home this upcoming weekend, as they have opted to tackle the Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on Friday night, August 23 for the 4th Annual ‘George Scheffler Memorial.’ The Wisconsin Dirt Late Model Association (WDLMA) will sanction the one-day program, which boasts a $5,000 winner’s check.
