Dirt Track World Championship - DTWCCARPENTERSVILLE, IL (October 24) – Dennis Erb Racing wrapped up the 2013 version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series schedule on October 18-19 with the 33rd edition of the ‘Dirt Track World Championship,’ which boasted a whopping $50,000 top prize. A strong field of 79 competitors converged on Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio for the crown jewel extravaganza. On Friday night, Dennis Erb, Jr. timed in twenty-fifth fastest in Group B during the qualifying session and later advanced up to fifth in his stacked heat race.

Dennis then wound up fourth in his B-Main on Saturday evening, which was two mere spots away from a transfer position into the 100-lap DTWC. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace did receive a series provisional to gain access into the extra-distance affair and rolled off from the outside of the thirteenth row. Dennis then rallied past eighteen competitors during the race to claim an impressive eighth place effort in the ‘Dirt Track World Championship.’ With the top ten performance, Dennis officially claimed a fifth place finish in the final Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings. Full results from Portsmouth can be accessed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

The #28 team will head south to the state of Mississippi over the October 25-26 weekend for the 19th Annual Coors Light ‘Fall Classic.’ The unsanctioned program will kick off at the Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi on Friday night with Super Late Model qualifying and heat race action. The B-Mains and the 100-lap ‘Fall Classic’ feature event will then wrap up the weekend on Saturday and a $15,000 winner’s check will be on the line. Dennis has been consistently fast at Whynot in recent years, as he finished second behind winner Jonathan Davenport in 2011 and wound up sixth in last year’s version of the race.
