World of Outlaws Late Model Series(YORK, PENNSYLVANIA) “Scrub” Rick Eckert made his 2014 debut with the Rocket House Car team on April 25-26 at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois. The World of Outlaws Late Model Series once again presided over the two-day ‘Illini 100’ at the 1/4-mile bullring and a hefty $20,000 winner’s check was on the line. On Friday night during preliminary action, Rick clicked off the second fastest lap in Group B during qualifying prior to finishing second in his heat race behind only prelim winner Bobby Pierce.

After drawing the outside of the front row on Saturday prior to the 100-lap main event, Rick was looking to take the #1 Valvoline/Seubert Calf Ranches Rocket to victory lane. The York, Pennsylvania star led the opening two laps of the extra-distance affair before settling back inside of the top five. When the checkers fell over the stout field in the ‘Illini 100,’ Rick found himself in the fifth spot behind only victor and fellow Rocket driver Shannon Babb, Darrell Lanigan, Bobby Pierce, and Tim McCreadie. Complete results from Farmer City can be viewed by pointing your web browser to www.woolms.com.

Rick and the #1 Rocket House Car team will head to the Southeast on May 2-3 for a pair of World of Outlaws Late Model Series tilts, each of which boasts a $10,000 payday. On Friday night, the doubleheader will kick off at Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, North Carolina, while things will wrap up on Saturday evening at Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, Georgia. Both shows will feature qualifying, heat races, consolation events, and 50-lap main events. Rick comes into the WOOLMS double-dip third in the latest version of the national touring series point standings – only 66 markers out of the lead.
