DIRTcar Summer Nationals(PINCONNING, MICHIGAN) The Iron Motorsports team and driver Jeep Van Wormer entered a pair of $5,000 to win special events on June 21-22 at Oakshade Raceway in Wauseon, Ohio and I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan. On Saturday evening at Oakshade, the 25th Annual ‘Barney Oldfield Race’ took place and Jeep earned the third transfer spot through his heat race to gain access into the 40-lap feature. After starting the A-Main from the outside of the seventh row, Jeep unfortunately got hit in the left front by another competitor early in the race, which caused him to suffer a flat tire and ultimately retire in the twenty-second position.

At I-96 on Sunday night, Jeep competed in his first UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals program of 2014, as another $5,000 paycheck was on the line. The Pinconning, Michigan ace laid down the third fastest lap in his group during qualifying prior to finishing third in his stacked heat race – despite slipping over the banking at one point. After rolling off from the inside of the fourth row in the 40-lapper, Jeep battled hard during the caution-free affair and eventually wound up ninth in the final rundown. Full results from both Oakshade and I-96 can be accessed online at www.dirtondirt.com.

The #55 team is now set to enjoy three straight weekends away from the racetrack, as Jeep has no current plans to race before July 16. Iron Motorsports will head to the Buckeye State of Ohio from July 16-19 for the final four races of the 2014 UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour. Jeep will make stops at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio, Brushcreek Motorsports Complex in Peebles, Ohio, Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, and Oakshade Raceway in Wauseon, Ohio, as a total of $25,000 in top prizes will be up for grabs.
