DIRTcar Summer Nationals(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) invaded the states of Kentucky and Missouri for a pair of UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals stops over the June 27-28 weekend. Following a rain-out on Friday night at Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky, Billy Moyer’s lone event of the weekend took place on Saturday evening at Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri. Billy was shooting for his fourth consecutive Summer Nationals victory at the 1/3-mile, high-banked facility.

“Mr. Smooth” knocked down the fastest lap in Group B during qualifying and later scored the win in his heat race at Pevely over Brady Smith, Rickey Frankel, and Billy Moyer, Jr. After drawing the pole position prior to the drop of the green flag in the $10,000 to win feature, Billy led the talented field for the first 36 circuits and looked primed to score another win at the St. Louis-area venue. However, Brian Birkhofer was able to pass the Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer with only four laps remaining and Billy was forced to settle for a strong runner-up performance. Two more UMP Summer Nationals battles await the #21 BMR team this upcoming weekend in the Land of Lincoln. On Friday night, July 4, a $7,500 top prize will be on the line at Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, Illinois, while a trip to Highland Speedway in Highland, Illinois will wrap up the doubleheader weekend on Saturday evening, July 5. A $10,000 check awaits the winner of the headliner on Saturday at the 1/4-mile, semi-banked clay oval. Billy will be gunning for his 85th career “Hell Tour” triumph when he takes to the track this weekend. Additional information on these races can be accessed online at www.thehelltour.com.
