(Bill W) March 2, 2015 – Brad Loyet and the Loyet Motorsports Vacuworx #o5 team completed a successful trip to Florida last Friday night at Bubba Raceway Park near Ocala.  Their fifth place finish completed a four-race trip in which they never failed to finish outside of the top five.  Their next outing will be in south Texas at the 8th Annual Gulf Coast Nationals March 13 and 14.

Brad started outside of the front row of his heat race.  “I was a little worried about it,” he says.  “Everyone seemed to be getting the jump off of the pole in the heats.  We started on the front row outside, and I wanted to make sure I got the right rear up on the cushion and got a good start.”

The Sunset Hills, Missouri driver did just that.  “I was able to get the jump on Sam (Hafertepe),” he says.  “How that track raced…it was hard to pass once you got going.  It was really a momentum racetrack, and we just kind of stuck it out there for eight laps and got the win.”

Winning the heat was enough to get in the redraw for the feature.  “Watching the B main, we could see some rubber being laid,” says Brad.  “We knew we needed to draw towards the front to have a better chance at winning it.  Unfortunately, I pulled the eight.”

Brad was able to charge up to fifth by the checkers.  “We were able to get by a few guys and kept our top five streak alive,” he says.  “We can’t complain about the Florida trip at all.  In four nights, we didn’t finish out of the top five.  There were a lot of drivers who couldn’t say that.”

The team will have this weekend off.  “We’re off until the Gulf Coast Nationals in Beaumont and Highlands March 13 and 14,” says Brad.  “We were able to win a (ASCS) National race at Golden Triangle a couple of years ago (2013).  It’s a bullring that really fits my style well.  Hopefully, we can do well.”
