USARaceway350(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Following a short three-month off-season for the #28 team, Jimmy Mars will start his 2016 campaign with the 10th edition of the ‘Wild West Shootout’ at USA Raceway in Tucson, Arizona. The six-race miniseries will be conducted at the 3/8-mile oval from January 9-17 and a $5,000 top prize will be on the line each night with the exception of the finale, which will boast an $11,000 winner’s check. In addition, the Keyser’s Quarter-Million Challenge will put up a bonus of $50,000 for a driver to pick up four wins, a bonus of $100,000 to capture five victories, and a gargantuan $250,000 bonus to sweep all six events.

An open practice session will kick things off tonight, January 8 at USA Raceway, while the first two shows of the ‘Wild West Shootout’ will take place on Saturday and Sunday. Other showdowns at the desert speedplant will be held next week on January 13, 15, 16, and 17. Jimmy, who tested earlier this week at El Paso (TX) Speedway Park, is currently third on the list of top early-season winners in the Copper State, as he has amassed five victories since 2001. For those not able to make it out west, DirtonDirt.com will be broadcasting all six programs to viewers on a pay-per-view platform.
