In just a few days, Double-X Speedway will open for the 2019, “Back to our roots” season of dirt racing action. Going back to its roots of three classes, just as it was 30 years ago when Fred and Ruth Hohman opened Double-X, current owners Kyle & Carol Wirts want to provide a fun, family oriented environment of local dirt track racing. 360 Winged Sprint Cars, Super Stocks and Hobby Stocks will fill the card this year for the weekly events at Double-X.

Opening night for 2019 is May 5th, which is “High School Senior Night”, all high school seniors with school ID will be admitted free into the grandstands. Double-X will host the 9th annual “ Tribute to Jesse” Memorial Race on May 26, with the POWRi WAR Series non wing sprint cars joining the regular weekly classes. June 2nd, the popular B Modifieds will join the weekly classes for “B Mod Mania” paying $500 to the winner, USRA rules will be used. The following week June 9th will be the 3rd annual “Dylan Bias Memorial” Race. June 23rd will be the Old Timers/Legends night with vintage cars on display as well.

Racing action continues during the month of July. On the 7th the 600cc Winged Micro Sprints are invited for a turn atop the clay. July 14th brings the annual “Race for Riley” Memorial Race with fundraising activities geared to help Women’s & Children’s Hospital in Columbia. The season will wind up with the Season Championship on August 4th. Be sure to check out the new website of Double-X Speedway www.doublexspeedway.com for information.
