Returns to Action with Miniseries on Thursday at Selinsgrove

INDIANA, Pa. (06/12/24) – Greg Satterlee collected back-to-back $5,000 triumphs in Appalachian Mountain Speedweek action on Saturday and Sunday with his Satterlee Motorsports No. 22 Keyser Manufacturing / Classic Ink / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

Satterlee’s second-and-third triumphs of the season were achieved at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway and Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway. With his consistency over the first four events of the miniseries, Satterlee sits atop the latest standings.

Gregg Satterlee kicked off the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek on Friday night at Clinton County Motor Speedway (Mill Hall, Pa.) for the first leg of the eight-race miniseries.

Drawing 40 Super Late Models for the Sam Ray Memorial, Satterlee backed up the second-fastest qualifying effort in his time trial group with a dash victory. Starting on the pole for the opener, Gregg lost three spots in the 35-lap affair to register a fourth-place finish.

With the field inflated to 45 cars on Saturday at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.), Gregg topped the overall speed charts in qualifying with a blistering 19.001-lap before cruising to a dash win. Setting sail on the opening lap of the feature, Satterlee led wire-to-wire in the 35-lapper to claim his second win of the season and the $5,000 winner’s payday.

“I feel like tonight, things kind of clicked, for whatever reason,” Satterlee told DirtonDirt.com in Victory Lane. “You could say things fell our way. Had cautions when I needed them in that feature. Our car was good. Didn’t have anything stupid happen. For once it was just not an uphill battle all night long.”

For the weekend finale on Sunday at Hagerstown Speedway (Hagerstown, Md.), Satterlee started the main event in 10th and quickly worked his way forward as he climbed to fifth by lap nine. Tracking down fast qualifier and pole-starting Tyler Emory in the closing distance, Gregg paced the final two laps to claim his second win in as many nights and third of the 2024 season.

“Most of that race I thought I was gonna run about fifth, the caution came out there and I got stuck on the inside,” Satterlee said. “Tyler (Emory), I thought he was making really good laps and I was just able to kinda gauge on what he was doing and how hard I could go in (to the corner), and that’s really what allowed me to catch him, just the corner entry speed. Congrats to those guys, they had a rough night last night, so it was good to see them rebound and get back up front.”

He banked the $5,000 top prize ahead of Emory, Trever Feathers, Dylan Yoder, and Drake Troutman.

After an off-day on Monday, Satterlee returned to the driver’s seat on Tuesday night at Path Valley Speedway (Spring Run, Pa.). The program drew 32 entries, and via preliminary action Satterlee earned the third-starting spot for the feature. He raced in the Top 5 throughout the main event before crossing the finish line in third behind Rick Eckert and Mason Zeigler.

On the heels of a two-win weekend, Gregg holds a 173-point advantage over Matt Cosner atop the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek point standings.
