World of Outlaws Late Model Series(YORK, PENNSYLVANIA) Rick Eckert, of York, Pennsylvania, will officially start the defense of his World of Outlaws Late Model Series title later this week at the Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Georgia. The ‘Winter Freeze’ will serve as the WOOLMS lid lifter this year and the two-day, $20,000 to win program will take place on February 10-11. An open practice session will be held at Screven on Thursday, while qualifying and heat races are scheduled for Friday night. The B-Mains and the 60-lap ‘Winter Freeze’ will then headline the dirt-slinging competition on Saturday evening at the 3/8-mile venue.

Following Screven, three more World of Outlaws Late Model Series showdowns will be held from February 16-18 at the Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida. The inaugural ‘Bubba Army Late Model Winter Nationals’ at BRP will feature $8,000, $10,000, and $12,000 top prizes respectively during the extended weekend. As in recent years, “Speedweeks” will wrap up at the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida with six straight nights of racing action in the ‘DIRTcar Nationals’ from February 20-25. The UMP DIRTcar Series will preside over four shows, while the World of Outlaws Late Model Series will sanction a pair of $10,000 to win races.

“In past years, we have only had two World of Outlaws Late Model Series points races during Speedweeks to worry about, and those have been late in the last week at Volusia,” commented Eckert before leaving south for Georgia and Florida. “But this year, you better be fast right out of the box because we have six different WOOLMS shows at three different tracks. It will be a challenge, especially with the talent level that will be there, but I think our team will be up for it. We just have to remain consistent, just like we were last year, and let the points take care of themselves.”
