Comp Cams Super Dirt Series
Sterlington, Louisiana (03/23/12) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Model tour opened its 2012 season on Friday night at USA Speedway (Sterlington, Louisiana), and it was Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year candidate, Larry Campbell, who etched his name into the history books with his first career, tour win.

Twenty-seven cars entered the $2,000-to-win event at the 1/4 mile oval, and it was Campbell, who earned the JFR Graphics Pole Award after accumulating the most points in heat race action. He was joined on the front row by Rob Litton. As the race went green, it was Campbell, who shot to the lead with Litton, Jon Mitchell, and Timothy Culp in pursuit. With the bottom groove being dominate Campbell would maintain the lead for the duration of the 35 lap event despite heavy challenges from Rob Litton.

Campbell would go on to claim the win as he served notice to the other Kuntz & Co. Rookie candidates that he means business in 2012. Litton, Mitchell, Culp and 12th starting, Bubba Mullins rounded out the top five finishers.

GRT Heat Race #1 was won by Robert Baker with Larry Campbell winning NEA Super Gas/Killer Coatings Heat Race #2. RiceTec Heat Race #3 saw Rob Litton victorious, while Jon Mitchell won Racing Head Service Heat Race #4.
