DIRTcar Summer Nationals(HARRISBURG, ILLINOIS) Jason Riggs, of Harrisburg, Illinois, recorded his first Dirt Late Model triumph of the 2012 racing season last Saturday night, June 16 at the Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee! Aboard his CCI Systems / Clearwave Communications / Riggs Motorsports #81jr Rocket entry, Jason swept the night’s racing activities at Clarksville. He set fast time during qualifying, won his heat race, and later led flag-to-flag in the A-Main to claim the commanding $1,000 victory.

Teammate Kevin Cole was also in action on Saturday evening, but at the Highland Speedway in Highland, Illinois. Kevin ran second in his heat race and finished third in the dash, but the oil line came loose on his #81c prior to the start of the weekly UMP main event, which dropped him to a fourteenth place effort.

The third driver for the Riggs Motorsports team, Scott James, was busy in a pair of events in the states of Indiana and Kentucky from June 13-16. On Wednesday night, Scott ran third in his heat race at the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana prior to winding up nineteenth in the final rundown of the $5,000 to win UMP Summer Nationals feature event.

Next up for the Bright, Indiana native was a trip to the Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, Kentucky on Friday and Saturday for the 22nd Annual ‘Lake Cumberland Classic.’ Unfortunately, Scott broke a hub and brake caliper during the heat race and could not get everything fixed prior to the B-Main, which kept him out of the $10,000 to win main event. Full results from the busy week can be accessed online at www.clarksvillespeedway.com, www.highlandspeedway.com, and www.dirtondirt.com.

All three Riggs Motorsports drivers will return to racing action this week, as the teams will scatter across the states of Illinois and Kentucky from June 19-23. Jason Riggs will be the busiest, as he plans to enter five Dirt Late Model shows this week, four of them being UMP Summer Nationals events.
