DIRTcar(HARRISBURG, ILLINOIS) Jason Riggs and the Riggs Motorsports team trekked to the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on October 5-6 for the annual running of the ‘UMP Nationals.’ After inclement weather nixed qualifying on Friday night, the entire show was condensed into a one-day program on Saturday.

Jason laid down the fifth fastest lap in his group during the qualifying session and later finished fifth in his stacked heat race. The Harrisburg, Illinois native then grabbed the second transfer spot in his B-Main and rolled off from the outside of the tenth row in the $5,000 to win feature event. Jason opted to gamble on tires to try to make his way towards the front and eventually retired with about ten laps remaining in the ‘UMP Nationals’ and wound up nineteenth in the final rundown. Full results from the “Big E” can be viewed online at www.eldoraspeedway.com.

The #81jr team is slated to take the upcoming October 12-13 weekend off from Dirt Late Model competition. Their next scheduled event will be 32nd Annual ‘Dirt Track World Championship,’ which will be held for the first time at the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on October 19-20. The DTWC will mark the final event of the season for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and boasts a hefty $50,000 top prize. Preliminary action will start on Friday night, while the 100-lap DTWC will headline the weekend at PRP on Saturday evening. This event will be taped by the Lucas Oil Production Studios for broadcast on the SPEED network. Additional information can be obtained by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.
