Paducah International Raceway(HARRISBURG, ILLINOIS) The Riggs Motorsports team and driver Jason Riggs headed to the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on October 19-20 for the 32nd Annual ‘Dirt Track World Championship.’ A total of 94 competitors converged on PRP for the $50,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series finale, which also attracted the high-definition cameras of the Lucas Oil Production Studios. After Mother Nature took home the win on Friday night, the entire crown jewel event was condensed into a single day program starting on Saturday afternoon.

Jason laid down the fourteenth fastest lap in Group A during the qualifying session and later placed seventh in both his loaded heat race and his consolation event. Unfortunately, both of those finishes were a few spots away from transferring the Harrisburg, Illinois driver into the 100-lap DTWC. Jason was able to compete in the $3,000 to win ‘Jim Dunn Memorial’ for non-qualifiers, but retired early in the 30-lapper and wound up twenty-third in the final rundown. Full results from the long day at Portsmouth can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Next up for Jason and his #81jr team will be a trip to the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky on Saturday, October 27. The Season Championship race for the Super Late Models will take place on Saturday at PIR and a $1,500 payday will be on the line. Jason has enjoyed some strong runs at Paducah this year and although he has not entered each and every race, he currently sits fifth in the track’s point standings.
