DIRTcar(HARRISBURG, ILLINOIS) The Riggs Motorsports team was busy over the Memorial Day holiday weekend, as they competed in Dirt Late Model events in three different states. Jason Riggs posted the best finish of the weekend, as he ran strong in a weekly show on Saturday, May 25 at the Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee. After timing in third quickest in qualifying and winning his heat race, Jason led the early portion of the A-Main until brake issues caused him to fade back to a sixth place effort.

Randy Korte entered his #81k into events at the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri and the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois from May 23-26. After unfortunately missing out on the $5,000 to win A-Main on Thursday at Wheatland, Randy was in action on Friday at Granite City. He won his heat race, ran third in the dash, and was racing for the lead in the weekly main event before an incident on lap 12 relegated him to a disappointing eighteenth place performance. Randy’s weekend then wrapped up on Sunday with the $10,000 to win ‘Budweiser 50’ at Granite City and the Highland, Illinois ace notched a tenth place performance in the 50-lapper after running second in his heat race. Complete results from these races can be viewed online at www.dirtondirt.com, www.clarksvillespeedway.com, and www.tricityspeedway.net.

Both Riggs Motorsports drivers had plans of racing with the MARS DIRTcar Series in a pair of $5,000 to win shows at the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky and the Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri over the May 31 and June 1 weekend. However, impending inclement weather has already forced the cancellation of these races. At press time, both Jason Riggs and Randy Korte now plan to take the upcoming weekend off.
