(YORK, PENNSYLVANIA) “Scrub” Rick Eckert’s 2013 Dirt Late Model win total now stands at seven following an impressive sweep of the ‘Big Kahuna’ weekend at the Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, Pennsylvania on September 27-28! On Friday night, Rick piloted Paul Crowl’s #7 machine to a complete sweep of the weekend opener, as he won the heat race, the dash, and the unsanctioned main event. Rick scored the $2,000 payday by besting Davey Johnson, Mason Zeigler, Kenny Pettyjohn, and Jamie Lathroum.
At Roaring Knob on Saturday evening, the Three State Flyers tour rolled into town to preside over the ‘Big Kahuna’ finale. Rick won his heat race in preliminary action and later started seventh on the grid in the 60-lap feature event. The York, Pennsylvania star then grabbed the point on a lap 41 restart and led the remainder of the distance on his way to the $5,000 triumph over Gregg Satterlee, Davey Johnson, Dan Stone, and Kyle Hardy! Rick and Paul Crowl’s team will hook back up again this upcoming weekend (October 4-5) at the Natural Bridge Speedway in Natural Bridge, Virginia. The annual running of the ‘Sunoco Fall Classic’ will take place at NBS this weekend and a $10,000 top prize will be on the line. Qualifying and heat races are scheduled for Friday night, while the consolation races and the 50-lap main event will headline the action on Saturday evening.
