Dirt Track World Championship - DTWCWAYCROSS, GA (October 16, 2013) – This weekend’s RED BUCK Dirt Track World Championship -Presented by Borrowed Blue is the final event for the ASi Racewear Crown Jewel Cup -Presented by DirtonDirt.com. The ASi Racewear Crown Jewel Cup-Presented by www.DirtonDirt.com is a nine race mini-series within the series schedule that offered racers that maintain perfect attendance a chance to win a $10,000 bonus at the series year-end awards banquet. The driver that earns the most points at the nine “Crown Jewel Cup” races will be awarded this cash bonus.

Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN will clinch the title as the ASi Crown Jewel Cup winner in this point category by virtue of starting the main event on Saturday night. Owens has won two of the crown jewel cup events in 2014 and leads Steve Francis by 180 points in the chase for the $10,000 bonus. “It’s awesome to know that we have crown jewel cup bonus locked up. The $10,000 bonus at the awards banquet is a great prize and accomplishment for team and our sponsors. We appreciate ASi Racewear and DirtonDirt.com for putting this point category and bonus money up for the racers to earn”, stated Jimmy Owens, driver of the #20 Reece Monument owned racing team.

The nine (9) crown jewel events within the series schedule that were included in the ASi Crown Jewel Cup-Presented by DirtonDirt.com include: The $30,000 to win Lucas Oil Show-Me 100 – presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com, Lucas Oil Speedway on May 23-25th, The $20,000 to win Clash at the Mag, Magnolia Motor Speedway, June 14-15th, The $27,000 to win Silver Dollar Nationals, I-80 Speedway, July 18-20th, The $50,000 to win Sunoco North/South 100 presented by Lucas Oil, Florence Speedway, Aug 8-10th, The $40,000 to win COMP Cams Topless 100, Batesville Motor Speedway, Aug 15-17th, The $25,000 to win Hillbilly Hundred, I-77 Speedway, Sept 1st, The $15,000 to win Jackson 100, Brownstown Speedway, Sept 21st, The $40,000 to win Lucas Oil Knoxville Late Model Nationals, Knoxville Raceway, Sept 26-28th, and the season finale $50,000 to win RED BUCK Dirt Track World Championship featuring Borrowed Blue, Portsmouth Raceway Park, Oct 18-19th. Activities for the 33rd Annual RED BUCK Dirt Track World Championship – Presented by Borrowed Blue will get underway on Thursday, October 17th with Modified Qualifying, Heat Races and Consolation races. On Friday, October 18th the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will take to the track for Hot-Laps, RED BUCK Time Trials and Heat Races. Then on Saturday, October 19th the schedule will include the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series B-Mains, the $3,000 to win Modified Feature, the $50,000 to win/$2,000 to start DTWC 100-lap feature event and the $3,000 to win Jim Dunn Memorial Non-Qualifiers race.
