BRASSTOWN, NC (May 16, 2019)-Donald McIntosh claimed his first Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels victory of the season on Thursday May 16 at Ray Cook’s Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, N.C.

The Dawsonville, Ga. driver collected $4,000 for the win while driving the Blount Motorsports, Massey Electric, Blount Excavating and Stower’s CAT-sponsored Rocket Chassis which is powered by a Vic Hill Racing Engine. McIntosh became the fourth different winner in six points races so far. This was also Mcintosh’s fourth career Spring Nationals payday.

Polesitter McIntosh led all 40 laps in the feature race and took the victory over series points leader Dale McDowell who finished second in the Shane McDowell Racing Sweet-Bloomquist Race Car. Casey Roberts finished third in the feature while driving the Wynn Motorsports entry, Kenny Collins made his first series appearance of the season and finished fourth while hometown Jamie Oliver finished fifth.

McIntosh dominated the feature event but credited his team for the winning car “Man we made the right call on changes and everything, we had a really good car, anytime you can outrun Dale (McDowell) you’ve done something. Track was pretty good tonight, it had a bottom and a top, I wasn’t so good in the bottom and around the lap cars I was a little scared. I can’t thank these guys enough, David Bryant (Crew Chief) and Eric Watson and everyone that’s a part of this team, it’s cool to be able to drive for them, what a night,” said a jubilant McIntosh from victory lane.

The Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels returns to action on Friday May 17th at Crossville (Tenn.) Speedway racing for $4,000-to-win then Saturday May 18th at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Summertown, Tenn. racing for $10,000-to-win.
