WAYCROSS, GA (May 25, 2011) -The DART Show-Me 100 presented by Lucas Oil Products will include several special events and awards this coming weekend.The DART Show-Me 100 weekend gets underway on Thursday, May 26th with the traditional open practice and barbecue dinner starting at 7pm. The BBQ is FREE with your Pit Pass; all others are welcome to join for $10 following the practice session.
On Friday night the Red Buck Cigars time trials will take place with a special cash award to the fastest qualifier. Red Buck Cigars will pay $250 to the driver that sets the fastest qualifying lap during Red Buck Cigars time trials.
After qualifying and heat race action there will be a special 12-lap shootout for the past winners of the DART Show-Me 100. The Appliancezone.com Past Champion’s Race will pay a cool $1,000 to the winner. Drivers eligible to compete in this special event include: Scott Bloomquist, Billy Moyer, Terry Phillips, Ray Cook, Rick Aukland, Wendell Wallace, Freddy Smith and Brian Birkhofer.
Appliancezone.com has signed on as the “Official Appliance Parts Retailer” for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. As part of their sponsorship, Appliancezone.com CEO Jim Allen and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series have put together a special contest to give one lucky fan a special 2011 Chevy Camaro. The 2011 Chevy Camaro is also the series Official Pace Car and will pace the field at all events. Also included in the car give away contest is an all expenses paid trip to the season finale at the Appliancezone.com Dirt Track World Championship presented by Lucas Oil Products on Oct 14-15th in Chillicothe, Ohio. Also on Friday night on the schedule of events will be a special OHLINS Chassis Manufactures Dash for the top chassis builders based on qualifying. The driver that qualifies the highest for each chassis manufacturer represented will race in a 10-lap Dash with the winner earning $500. Sunoco Race Fuels has added additional bonus money for the winner of the DART Show-Me 100 as part of the “Sunoco Road to Wheatland” program. Drivers that have maintained perfect attendance to all Lucas Oil LM Dirt Series events heading into this weekend and use Sunoco Race Fuel exclusively in their racecars are in line to earn a $2,000 bonus if they win the DART Show-Me 100. The drivers eligible to receive this bonus include: Earl Pearson Jr., Steve Casebolt, Chris Wall and Brad Neat.
Race fans that attend this weekend events will also have a chance at several prize packages. Racefans will be matched up with the drivers that compete in both the DASH events on Friday and the fan matched with the winner of each DASH will win a special prize package from Lucas Oil. Sunoco Race Fuels will also give a lucky fan a special Sunoco gift package at the event and a VIP pass to watch Saturdays night’s event from the Sunoco Race Fuels Suite as special guest of Sunoco Race Fuels.
In addition to all of the activities on track, the off-track activities scheduled to appear include the U.S. Air Force Orange County Chopper Tour, the AAA NASCAR show car display featuring Kurt Busch’s AAA sponsored NASCAR Sprint Cup Car, as well as multiple apparel trailers, racing simulators, vendor displays, and a short Fireworks Show on Saturday night. Fans will also get to see some of the top drivers from the series during the special Appliancezone.com driver autograph session on Saturday at the vendor midway beside the main grandstands starting at 5pm. A Show-Me 100 would not be complete without “Gus the Mule” in attendance as well.
