Lonnie Wheatley, BEAUMONT, Texas (April 15, 2011) – Defending series champion Ray Allen Kulhanek broke into victory lane for the first time this year by taking the $3,000 winner’s share in Friday night’s 30-lap Smiley’s Racing Products ASCS Gulf South Region main even at Golden Triangle Raceway Park.

Third-starter Kulhanek took the lead away from Michael Dupuy in the early going and never looked back en route to his eleventh career ASCS Gulf South triumph aboard David Miller’s Custom Automotive Machine-powered Miller’s RV Park/B&M Jr. No. 21T J&J.

Kulhanek was chased to the stripe by Dupuy, with Channin Tankersley, Tommy Bryant and current series points leader George White rounding out the top five.

Eric Baldaccini charged from 19th to sixth, with Travis Elliott, Gary Watson, Larry Howery and Beau Smith completing the top ten.

Smith, Elliott, Tankersley and Travis Rilat topped heat race action, with Chris Sweeney and Wes Miller winning the “B” Mains.  Rilat took the checkered flag fourth in the feature event but was disqualified and credited with a 20th place finish when he failed to report to the scales.
