Macon Speedway(Macon, IL)  Plans are underway for the 95Q Macon Speedway Annual fireworks display to be held this Saturday night July 2 during our Firecracker 40’s.  Macon Speedway plans a spectacular fireworks display to dazzle the crowd.  “We are most grateful to the community and all of our sponsors for ensuring that our annual tradition of the fireworks continues” said track owner Bob Sargent.  Macon Speedway knows that families and friends come together every year to watch our display and we are proud to be a part of that tradition.  We hope that everyone will join us as we pay tribute to our great country and enjoy an evening of racing and fireworks under the stars. The fireworks display is sure to light up the Macon skyline with stunning visuals and vibrant colors.  The fireworks display is set to begin at approximately 9:30 PM.

On the racing card for the night fans will be treated to two 40 lap features, one for the UMP Chevrolet Late Model division and the other 40 lap event will be for the UMP Billingsley Towing Modified division.  Also racing will be the UMP Touchstone Energy Sportsman, UMP Street Stocks and Pro & Amateur Hornets.  The UMP Chevrolet Late Models will be racing for an increased payout with the checkered flag driver taken home $1,200 and the UMP Billingsley Towing winner will take home $600 for winning their division on July 2.  The UMP Chevrolet Late Model division is being led for the points race by Rodney Standerfer from Germantown, IL.  He leads Brian Dively of Springfield, IL by a mere 20 points going into this Saturday night’s racing action.  The UMP Billingsley Towing Modified division points race is also a close one with Aaron Burcham of Decatur, IL leading Danny Smith of Argenta, IL by 30 points.

Gates are set to open at 5 pm with racing beginning at 7 pm.  Adult general admission tickets are $15 and children 12 & under are free with a paying adult.  Don’t miss your chance to bring your family and friends and come to the track this Saturday night for our hot weekly racing along with the huge fireworks display.
