World of Outlaws Late Model SeriesBRIGHT, Ind. (February 7) – Following a very impressive first season together in 2011, Scott James and the Riggs Motorsports team are scheduled to kick-off their 2012 campaign this upcoming weekend at the Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Georgia. The ‘Winter Freeze’ will be sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and will feature a whopping $20,000 top prize.

Qualifying and heat race action will get underway at Screven on Friday night, February 10, while the B-Mains and 60-lap feature event are scheduled for Saturday evening, February 11. Scott has visited the 3/8-mile venue on two occasions in his career and has walked away with a pair of impressive Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series triumphs in 2008 and 2009.

Next up after the ‘Winter Freeze’ will be a trip to the East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida for the annual running of the ‘Winternationals’ from February 13-18. A total of six Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series showdowns will take place at the “Clay by the Bay,” with winner’s checks varying from $5,000 to $10,000. If all goes well at both Screven and East Bay, there is a chance that the #81 team will then head east to the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida for the ‘DIRTcar Nationals’ from February 20-25. A decision on Volusia will be made following the $10,000 to win East Bay finale on Saturday night, February 18.

“I am really pumped up about getting back down to Screven later this week,” exclaimed James yesterday via telephone. “I have had some excellent runs down there in the past and it would be awesome to make it three-for-three in the win column there. Then we kicked around the idea of splitting up the next week at East Bay and Ocala, but I think we have decided to just stay at East Bay for all six nights. Hopefully, the track is in good shape all week and we can put together a nice start to our 2012 season!”
