Lucas Oil Late Model Series(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. racked up his fourth win of the 2012 racing season on Sunday evening, May 6 at the Quincy Raceway in Quincy, Illinois! Dennis swept the weekly UMP DIRTcar Series program at Quincy by winning his heat race and the dash, prior to leading from flag-to-flag in the main event. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace, aboard his McBride Mack / JL Scrap Metals #28 Team Zero by Bloomquist / Vic Hill Racing Engines machine, captured the $1,000 top prize over Dewayne Kiefer, Brandon Sheppard, Michael Long, and Bobby Pierce!

Earlier in the weekend, the #28 team competed in a pair of $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series showdowns at the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois and the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky. On Friday night at Granite City, Dennis ran second in his heat race, but later suffered a flat right rear tire in the 50-lapper, which helped drop him to a thirteenth place finish. At Paducah on Saturday, Dennis ran fifth in his heat race, won his B-Main, and later notched another thirteenth place effort in the 50-lap main event. He now finds himself eighth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings following the double-dip. Full results can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

“It was a last minute deal to head to Quincy on Sunday, but I am glad we made the trip,” commented Erb earlier in the week. “We wanted to support Jerry Lierly and JL Scrap Metals and hopefully we got them some great exposure with that win. In the Lucas Oil shows, I had a good car on Friday night at Granite City, but unfortunately got another flat tire. Then at Paducah, we just didn’t get timed in as fast as we needed to, especially against that stout of a field.”

The Dennis Erb Racing team has two more Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series battles on their radar over the upcoming May 11-12 weekend. The Hartford Motor Speedway in Hartford, Michigan will play host to the cars and stars of the series on Friday night, while the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois will do the same on Saturday evening. Both one-day programs will be headlined by $10,000 to win main events. Additional information on this weekend’s doubleheader can be accessed by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.
