Peoria Speedway(Peoria, IL) It is a rare triple header at Peoria Speedway this weekend, starting tonight, June 1, with the Brockway Mechanical and Roofing 360 Sprint Invaders Series. The winged 360 warriors will be buzzing around the Peoria high banks in the 11 second range, with last year’s race won by Oregon driver Roger Crockett. It will be open wheel heaven, with the Speedway Motors Illinois Lightning Sprints and Mod Lites joining the show. With cool, rainy weather the last few days in Centrail Illinois, drivers and fans should be treated to a lightning fast racing surface.

Pit gates open at 4:30 tonight, with grandstands open at 5:30 and hot laps at 6:30. Admission $15 for adults, $10 for students, with under 6 free. Pit passes are $30.

Saturday, June 2 is a regular UMP racing program featuring UMP Modifieds, Limited Late Models, Street Stocks, Speedway Motors Illinois Lightning Sprints, and UMP Hornets. Track and UMP national points will be awarded. Metmamora driver Billy Tuckwell is the current points leader in the ultra-competitive UMP Modified division.

Pit gates open at 3 PM June 2 with grandstands open at 4. Hot laps are at 5, with racing at 6. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $4 for kids 8-15, with under 8 $1.

The 5th Annual “Don Bohlander Tribute” race, which was washed away by rains following Late Model heats on April 15, will be made up Sunday night, June 3. The 31 car field is locked in, along with the Limited Late Models. Both classes completed qualifying and heat races, and will pick up where they left off. UMP Modifieds and Speedway Motors Illinois Lightning Sprints will run a completely new program.

With co-sanctioning from UMP and the Corn Belt Clash Series, the 50 lap “Bohlander Tribute” will pay $4,000 to-win. The 6 lap “Richard Robison Quick Six Dash for Cash” will pay $500 to-win from a $1,200 total dash purse. The race will be a benefit for Parkinsons Research, with all proceeds going to Bradley University’s research program, headed by Dr. Craig Cady. Fans who held 50/50 tickets are encouraged to bring their tickets, and all tickets and pit passes from April 15 will be honored.

Pit gates open at 3, with grandstands at 4 and racing at $5. Admission is $14 for adults, $12 for Seniors, $5 for kids 8-15 with under 7 free.
