The temperature may have been hot but the action was even hotter as the competitors at the “Broadway Bullring” put on quite a show on Sunday July 15 during Heetco Propane Night at the Races.

Mark Burgtorf blasted into the lead of the thirty lap UMP Super Late Model feature event from his outside row one starting spot at the drop of the green flag and led every lap on his way to the checkered flag. Burgtorf held off a pesky Jason Perry during the last half of the event with Perry mounting several charges to get by the fourteen time Quincy Raceways Track Champion but Perry had to settle for the second spot at the checkered flag followed by Dustin Griffin in third, Matt Bailey in fourth and Jim Moon in fifth. Bailey and Burgtorf were the heat race winners with Bailey claiming the win in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Dash.

Jared Schlipman led the first eleven laps of the twenty five lap Miller Lite UMP Modified main event by holding back Steven DeLonjay. DeLonjay slipped past Schlipman for the lead on the twelfth lap and held back Michael Long and Schlipman to grab his fourth feature win of the season. Schlipman held on for second followed by Long in third, Shawn Deering in fourth and Dave Wietholder in fifth. Vance Wilson, Long and DeLonjay were the heat race winners.

Abe Huls scored yet another feature win in the IMCA Stock Car division, his eighth of year. Huls came from his third row starting spot to grab the lead on lap five and held off Terry Houston for the win. Third went to Kevin Tomlinson, fourth to Gabe Harrison and fifth to Darin Weisinger.

Tony Dunker scored his eighth feature win of the year in the Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA SportMods over Bobby Anders in second, Brad Holtmeyer in third, Joe Bliven in fourth and Charles VanZandt in fifth.

Tanner Klingele took the win in the Quincy Hobby Stock main event over Jeff DeLonjay in second, Jaime Bevill in third, Steve Carlin in fourth and Brian Hoener in fifth. Klingele and Jeff DeLonjay were the heat race winners.

Austen Bercerra scored his fourth feature win in a row in the IMCA Sport Compact division. Bercerra held off Kim Abbott in second to take the win followed by Seith Woodruff in third, Casey Lambert in fourth and Alex Baker in fifth. Brandon Lambert and Bercerra were the heat race winners.
